尺短寸长[ chǐ duǎn cùn cháng ]

⒈ “尺有所短，寸有所长”的缩语，是说由于应用的场合不同，一尺也有不够长的时候，而一寸也有多余的时候。比喻事物各有长处和短处。英Every thing has its strong and weak points as a foot is oft-times too short and inch too long;
